FAQ

Q: How is the payment process conducted?

A: Our payments are processed in two phases: Design and production. If you are purchasing our standard "Made to Order" products, design payments will not come into play unless custom edits are made to a design. Design work (i.e., Custom design work and custom color coordination known as our "envision" process) typically come first. It will be billed outside the production cost as each design is unique, and multiple factors like substrate and colors are used in its development. The Design work will be scoped accordingly and will be processed before work begins. Once the design phase is completed, we proceed to the production phase, where we will assemble a cost associated with creating your product. With this process, we will bill 50% upfront and charge the remaining 50% once the delivery or pick-up date is established.

Q. What is your return policy?

Custom Tile Projects and non-made to order tiles will not be accepted as return items. Once the initial payment of 50% is provided, the order is also non-cancelable. For returns with made-to-order tile, returns must be completed in 30 days of receiving the product and will incur a 50% restocking fee plus freight to and from the location of said return. If the product that is returned is not in a resellable condition, no refund will occur.

Q. May I order a sample tile to see how it looks in actuality?

A: Absolutely! On our website, we only sell samples my design, to make sure you like the product first before you make a large purchase. We will ship your tile and upon delivery we will touch base with you via email or phone number to discuss the project and tile development at length. If you are submitting a custom inquiry, we will discuss via email or phone the tile at length, then when design is approved, we will send a tile sample for approval. Local clients can come to pick up the tile as well if they would like as we would love to showcase our showroom and capabilities.

Q. I like the design on the VersaTile Website, but it doesn’t match the color scheme of my house.... can I get the design with the colors I want?

A: Absolutely! This is what we specialize in! Please submit a request to speak with us via our website. Color options can be selected in the contact us form or the custom tile page form. We will contact you within 24-48 hours to discuss the product and discuss all your color options.

Q: I found a design on the internet that I love, can you make it?

A: Absolutely! This is what we specialize in! Please submit a request to speak with us via our website. This can be done in the contact us form or the custom tile page form. We will contact you within 24-48 hours to discuss the product and discuss all your design options.

Q. I like the design and the colors, but the tile I want to use is not the same size as your product description says is available.... can you re-size and make the deco on a tile of my choice?

A: Yes, we can! Currently, our standard design size is 6x6, 8x8, and 12x12, but we are willing to discuss the production of decorative tile in unique sizes. Unique tile sizing like a hexagon, for example, will require design time and will be qualified as a custom order. We also have no issue with you providing your own tile. We will need samples to test the glazes and firing before production to ensure that the tile will provide a quality product. This benefits both VersaTile and the client to ensure that we make a product that can stand the test of time.

Q. How long will it take for me to get my tile once an order is placed?

A: Typically, orders take 10-14 business days to be completed once a sample has been approved and production begins. Please keep in mind that total SQFT is the variable that has the largest implication on ETA.

Q. Are your locations open to the public?

A: We are a manufacturing facility. Give us a call ahead of time, and we will be happy to set aside some time to show you what we do and how we can help with your design project.

Q. Where are the tile decos designed to be installed?

A: Our products can be installed anywhere the base tile is designed to be installed. If the tiles are to be used in a flooring installation, then the base tile must be appropriate for that installation. A tile rated for use on interior walls only would be an example of inappropriate use in this situation.

Q. What is the difference between Porcelain and Ceramic tile?

A: In general, porcelain tile is harder than ceramic and offers greater design flexibility. Although both are made from clay and other naturally occurring materials fired in a kiln, the clay used to make porcelain tile is more refined and purified.

Q. What is the difference between wall and floor tile?

A: Ceramic tiles, in particular, will usually have a grade from one to three – grade one is the best and will be ideal for a floor, grade two is best saved for a floor with less traffic, and grade three should only be used on walls.

Q. What is the difference between interior and exterior tiles?

A: Tiles can be used all over the home, both indoors and outdoors. They add a versatile beauty and offer durability. Though durable, indoor tiles are not made to handle things such as frost and direct sunlight. On the other hand, outdoor tiles can handle these conditions and more.

Q. Will the tiles fade over time if exposed to direct sunlight?

A: Because color is fired into a tile’s clay body (in the case of unglazed tiles) or onto a tile’s glazed surface (for glazed tiles), fading does not occur. The colors in ceramic tiles do not fade even if exposed to direct sunlight and its color-leaching UV rays. They remain permanently colorfast.

Q. Will tiles burn or melt if a hot pan or match comes into contact with them?

A: Ceramic and porcelain tile doesn’t burn or emit toxic fumes. Even hot kitchen pans or skillets will not scorch or melt the surface of the tile.

Q. Are your products in stock?

A: All our products are completed on a made-to-order basis as most of our products are custom.

Q. What basic tile care instructions should be followed with your porcelain, glass, and ceramic tiles?

A: Porcelain, ceramic, and glass tile are resistant to germs and bacteria. These tiles are very easy to clean and care for. You can use almost any non-abrasive household cleaner appropriate for hard surfaces
